Families in Palestine have been left unable to enjoy the most basic of human rights such as access to food, water and medical treatment. Around 2 million Palestinians struggle with food insecurity [UN] – in Gaza alone over 68% of people are living below the poverty line.

Families in Gaza already struggling because of the 15-year long blockade were further devastated by attacks in Ramadan 2021 and again in Ramadan 2022 and Ramadan 2023. Children in the region are bearing the brunt of the conflict, with as many as half of them dependent on humanitarian assistance and one in four in need of psychological support.
